My Piedmont: Great tastes and old charm

A complete exlporation of this region should include, without any doubts, the following places:

Turin, our Capital town, with its Egyptian Museum, one of the largest in the world; the famous Mole Antonelliana dominating the city skyline and housing the National Cinema Museum; and finally, the Automobile Museum.

The Turin's territory, lands of natural beauty and history enchanting the visitors with sumptuous Savoy royal residences, small towns, ancient castles and sacred sites as the Sacra di San Michele.

The Piedmont shore of Lake Maggiore filled with famous resorts, such as Arona with its 17th-Century colossal statue of Saint Carlo, Stresa and the Borromean Islands, with splendid villas and gardens. Among some especially fascinating sites are also the village of Orta San Giulio with its Baroque buildings, Renaissance arcades and tranquil streets reflected in the lake, and the Isola di San Giulio that houses one of the most important Romanesque monuments of Piedmont.

A day in Biella province for special shopping of best italian textiles is something not to be missed. The area become internationally famous thanks to names such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Cerruti 1881, Loro Piana, just to name a few.

Speaking about Vercelli province consider that is one of the best rice growing zones in the world. Here you find plains that are ideal for bike rides amongst the rice paddies, herons and uncontaminated scenery. And of course you can taste our traditional risotto!

Do you like that creamy and extremely pungent cheese called Gorgonzola? This is from Novara lands, a territory producing also the Ghemme, a prestigious wine you can find in the gentle hills of Novara's hills.

If you're looking for alternative itineraries and genuine food Asti territory is the right solution: a land full of history and art with romanesques churches and medieval castles but also the land of Palio di Asti, the Asti Spumante and excellent wines as the traditional Barbera d'Asti.

Are you looking for a very good thermal station in Piedmont?
Come to Alessandria province where is located Acqui Terme, one of most ancient thermal stations with very hot water. But do not forget this is the province of the Gavi wine as well; of the jewels and gold from Valenza town and the province home to a symbol of the Made in Italy: the Borsalino Hats, unique italian style since 1857.

French Coast and Provencal Alps: The Cuneo province is bordering with France and the proximity with its Southeastern side it’s  so high that it would be a pity to miss the opportunity  of touring. Italy and France at same time! In few hours driving  from my province you’ll be able to reach the glamorous Montecarlo and French Coast or immerse yourself in the nature of the Provencal Alps.
